Kline Galland CEO Jeffrey Cohen named as leader in health care by Puget Sound Business Journal
We are excited to announce that Kline Galland’s CEO Jeffrey Cohen was named Senior Health Care Champion in Puget Sound Business Journal’s third annual Health Care Leadership Awards. The awards, which honor those on the front lines of the health care industry, highlight innovative and influential thinkers who have made a lasting impact on the region.
Cohen was recognized by Puget Sound Business Journal for his work keeping Kline Galland’s community informed, aligned, and prepared to address the challenges of COVID-19.
Throughout the pandemic, Cohen has ensured that Kline Galland is following the science, meeting all government recommendations, and providing a steady stream of transparent communications to all staff, residents and family members. In doing so, he helped keep Kline Galland’s community safe while also making sure that the organization served as a thought leader, encouraging people to listen to the advice of elected officials and medical experts.
Cohen joins 10 other honorees including a collection of doctors, researchers, professors and leaders that are driving the research and providing the care that will help the Puget Sound region recover from the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

Kline Galland recognized by Washington State Department of Health for outstanding vaccination rates
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Kline Galland’s staff has met each new challenge together, united in our goal to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our residents and staff. We view COVID-19 vaccinations for our staff as a critical protective measure to keep our community safe and are thrilled to be a recipient of a Gold Award for the Long-Term Care COVID-19 Immunization Champion Award.
The Long-Term Care COVID-19 Immunization Champion Award recognizes outstanding vaccination rates in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, and agencies in Washington. The gold award is the highest honor available, requiring a minimum of 90% of staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
To receive the award, Kline Galland tracked vaccination status of all employees and volunteers who work in the organization, totaling 97% fully vaccinated as of August 21, 2021.
The award was created by the Washington Department of Health in cooperation with the Department of Social and Health Services, the Adult Family Home Council, the Washington Care Association, LeadingAge Washington, the Community Residential Services Association, and the Washington Long Term Care Advisory Committee.

Min An honored with the Pamela Waechter Z”L JEWISH COMMUNAL PROFESSIONAL AWARD
We are thrilled to announce that Kline Galland’s Chief Operating Officer Min An is being honored with the Pamela Waechter z”l Jewish Communal Professional Award from The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. This award is an incredible honor and celebrates those who exemplify a passionate commitment to Jewish Life.
Min has been a staple in Seattle’s long-term care community for more than 30 years and has been working at Kline Galland for 29 of them. She graduated from Seattle University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, completed the Geriatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Washington, and has worked in a variety of roles across the spectrum of care as a nurse practitioner clinician, Director of Nursing, and Administrator. Since 2010 she has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Kline Galland, overseeing the operation of long-term care, hospice and palliative, and home care and home health services.
Kline Galland is extremely fortunate to have Min on our Senior Leadership Team. Her dedication, thoughtfulness, and commitment to our organization and community continues to have a tremendous impact on Kline Galland’s residents, patients, families, and staff.

Barry Schneiderman Memorial Nursing Scholarships
Awarded at the Kline Galland Annual Meeting on August 19, 2018
Qualifications for the scholarship include:
- The applicant must have worked at Kline Galland Home, the Summit or Community Based Services for at least one year
- The applicant must be accepted into a program leading to becoming a license or registered nurse, NP or PA.
- The applicant must agree to work for any Kline Galland service line for at least one year after completion of program
Scholarship award amount is: $2,000 total
The total scholarship amount may be divided for multiple honorees
Note: Completed applications are due no later than June 1, 2019. Please see Human Resources for an application.

College Scholarship Opportunity for Your Children (or Grandchildren)!
The Arva Gray Scholarship Fund is available to a child whose parent or grandparent is employed by Kline Galland, which includes the KG Home, the Summit and all Community Based Services.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- The applicant child must have a parent or grandparent that has been employed at Kline Galland for a minimum of 1 (one) year and is currently employed;
- The parent or grandparent must work a minimum of 20 hours per week;
- The applicant child must be attending an accredited community college or university or have an acceptance letter to attend this year
Scholarship applications are available in Human Resources – deadline for submission is June 1, 2019 – Scholarships will be awarded at our Annual Meeting in summer of 2019 – anyone receiving scholarships will be notified ahead of time so they may attend
$5000 is available in scholarship funds! (the scholarship can be split up to 5 recipients at $1,000 each)
