Home Health Care Eligibility
In order to be covered by insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, you will likely have to meet certain requirements to qualify for home health. These include:
- Having an order from a physician – most insurance requires an in-person meeting with your doctor either 90 days prior to the start of services or within 30 days after services have begun.
- Being homebound – this means it would require a great deal of effort or assistance for you to leave home.
- Having a condition that requires the intermittent services of a nurse or therapist.
